That family money management app I laughed at... saved my sister's sanity

My sister used this budgeting tracker our cousin swore by and I thought it was a scam until she showed me it flagged her husband moving $400 to a secret account every month for 2 years. Has anyone else had a tool like that expose something way darker than just bad spending habits?

Jumped in to say this to @john_fisher first - investing in his future, maybe, but also probably just buying stuff he didn't want to explain. I'm not sure it's that dark, though. My sister's husband once hid $200 a month for a year just to buy a boat she told him not to get. It was dumb and sneaky, but not some sinister scheme. Honest question - did your sister actually lose anything, or was it just the hiding part that got to her?

Yeah my own budget tracker just showed me spending $90 a month on protein bars I didn't need. Not a secret account, just a sad snack habit. Made me feel better about myself honestly.
