That $200 Filson bag my uncle swore by literally fell apart after 3 months of commuting

My uncle has been preaching about Filson for 20 years, claims his bag from the 90s is still going strong. I dropped $200 on a brand new one for my train commute in Chicago and the stitching unraveled on the strap by month three. Anyone else had a BIFL brand completely crap out on them lately?

Close but your uncle's bag from the 90s was almost certainly made in the USA before they moved production overseas around 2015. The newer ones just aren't built the SAME way with the same materials and stitching standards. Your Chicago commute probably did it in faster than he ever saw because the quality drop is REAL between the old and new stuff.

Yeah I heard a guy on a podcast say the old ones used a heavier denim too, @the_terry.
