Switched from pre-finished plywood to raw sheets after a humid summer in Atlanta ruined three cabinets
I used to think pre-finished was always faster until a 90% humidity day made the edges swell and peel before I even got them hung, now I spray my own finish with a $150 Graco gun and it takes the same time but lasts way longer, anyone else ditched pre-finished for custom coats?

Tried the same thing last year, never looked back. Way more control.

That line about "paying for a third coat of regret" is dead on, I've been there. The Graco paid for itself after the first full kitchen, no more stressing about humidity or factory flaking off in six months.

Pre-finished cabinets in Atlanta humidity, that's a bold move. Nothing like watching your work curl up like a cheap party streamer before the customer even sees it. That Graco gun is probably the best $150 you ever spent, beats paying for a third coat of regret every time.
