Vent: A drawer slide snapped right before a big delivery

I was finishing up a kitchen install in Springfield last Thursday and one of the 22 inch Accuride slides gave out when I was testing the drawer. The metal just sheared clean off at the back mount. Had to run to the local supplier for a replacement, which set me back about 30 bucks and an hour of time. Anyone have a go-to heavy duty slide they trust for big drawers?

Actually, the Movento is a good slide but it's Blum's lighter duty line. For a big drawer that broke a 22 inch Accuride, you'd want the Blum Tandembox. That's their heavy one. The Movento might not hold up much better in that same spot.

My old apartment in Chicago had these cheap drawer slides that failed every six months, like clockwork. I mean, it feels like everything from cabinet hardware to phone chargers is just made to barely last now. You fix one thing and the next weakest link gives up. Maybe it's just me but that hour you lost running for parts is the real cost, way more than the thirty bucks.

Try Blum Movento, never had one fail.
