Hit 1000 shutter actuations on a repair today and it felt weird
I was fixing a Canon 5D Mark II that came in with a mirror slap issue, and after the fix I ran my usual test cycle. The counter hit exactly 1000 clicks, which is way more than I usually do for a single check. It made me realize I might be over-testing and wasting time. How many actuations do you all run for a basic function check after a mirror box job?

Man, you're testing for a different problem entirely. That many clicks isn't about checking the fix, it's about finding weak parts that might fail soon. You're doing a stress test by accident. I'd do maybe 50 shots to confirm the slap is gone, then tell the client the repair is done but the mechanism has fresh wear.

@ivan_murphy80 might be right about stress testing, but is a thousand clicks really gonna find a weak part that fifty wouldn't? Seems like overkill for a basic check.
