Hit 211 protest signs posted at my campus speech corner, someone counted
Tbh I run a free expression board outside the student union where anyone can pin up opinions, no rules except no hate speech. Last week a poli sci major told me she counted all the flyers from the last semester and it was exactly 211, which blew my mind because I thought it was maybe 50. The funny part is the most argued topic wasn't politics, it was a debate about whether the campus squirrel has a name, and that got 37 responses. Has anyone else seen a silly topic outdraw the serious ones on their free speech board? Ngl I'm kinda proud of that number.
The squirrel thing killing the political posts is too real. My buddy ran a similar board at his school last year and someone put up a sign asking if pineapple belongs on pizza, and it got like 60 replies while the housing crisis thread got maybe 8. He ended up adding a "most controversial topic of the week" tally and pineapple won three weeks straight. Eventually someone taped a fake squirrel name poll next to it just to mess with people, and that got more engagement than any actual debate they ever had. It's kinda wild how a joke can just steamroll everything serious.
