I'm still thinking about that whole thing where a pretty famous singer joked that pineapple on pizza is a crime against humanity, and people actually tried to get them canceled over it. On one hand, it was clearly a joke, right? The kind of silly hot take people throw around all the time without meaning actual harm. But on the other hand, some folks argued that even joking about food choices can feed into a culture of negativity and division, especially when a big platform is involved. I saw the thread blow up with thousands of replies, some calling for a boycott and others defending free speech over fruit toppings. It made me wonder where we draw the line between a harmless joke and something that deserves public backlash. What do you all think? Was that a fair cancel attempt or just people taking themselves way too seriously?

About 47k likes on a boycott over pineapple pizza just proves people have too much time on their hands. I've dealt with similar internet drama myself. Someone once tried to start a thing over a dumb joke I made about coffee, and my rule is simple. If you wouldn't confront someone face to face for the same thing, don't do it online. Nine times out of ten, these blowups fizzle out when people realize the person was just being a human being. The real answer here is to shut down your phone, go outside, and ask yourself if this will matter in a week. Usually it won't, and then you just feel dumb for feeding the noise.

About 47,000 people reportedly liked that tweet calling for a boycott over the pineapple pizza joke. That's just wild to me. It was clearly a throwaway line from a singer who makes jokes like that all the time. People need to save their energy for real problems like hate speech or actual harm, not a hot take about fruit on bread. Getting upset over a pizza topping joke just makes the whole cancel culture look silly and drains attention from things that actually matter. Let musicians crack dumb jokes without turning it into a whole movement.
