Pro tip: check the actual viewer numbers before you beg to save a show
I used to sign every petition to save my favorite shows until I looked up the real numbers on a site called TV Series Finale last week. Turns out one show I loved got 4.2 million viewers in season 1 and was down to 900k by season 3, and I had no idea it had dropped that far. I still think the network pulled the plug too fast, but now I get why they did it. Does anyone else check the ratings before they join a save campaign, or am I the only one late to this?
Why should fans care about what a bunch of box ratings say when the whole system is broken anyway? People don't watch live anymore, they stream it later or binge it on some app, so those old numbers miss half the audience. Save campaigns are about sending a message that real people still care, not about proving some magic number to a suit who never watched the show to begin with.
