My HOA board tried to silence me over a $40 fence complaint
Got kicked off the board after I brought up that our treasurer's buddy got a pass on a fence violation. I had photos and the rulebook, but they said I was 'creating a hostile environment' at the 9pm meeting. Three months later, still banned from even attending. Has anyone else been shut out of a group they helped build, and did the 'punishment' actually stick or just make things worse?
Calling it a "hostile environment" at nine at night over a fence feels more like a power move than a real safety thing, but your mileage may vary on what counts as hostile. That said, banning you from attending usually makes things worse for them, since it just gives you more time to document their nonsense.
