Overheard my boss say 'lazy workers are the ones who ask too many questions' and it stuck with me

I was grabbing coffee in the break room last week and my manager was talking to another supervisor about a new hire. He said lazy people always ask a ton of questions to avoid doing real work. Now I'm wondering if I should stop double-checking things with him before I mess up a big order lol has anyone else run into this kind of weird mindset at work?

My last boss was the same way. He'd get annoyed if I asked about stuff that was obviously his job to clarify. I learned to just ask the coworkers who actually do the work instead. Saves me time and keeps me out of trouble.

Read something similar in AskAManager, coworkers are always the safer bet.
