Thought updating my portfolio would be quick. It took me six weeks.

My old portfolio site was a mess. I figured a weekend to pick a new template and add my recent work. Wrong. Choosing the right projects to show took two weeks alone. Then writing the case studies for each one, that was another three. I spent a full week just tweaking the layout on my phone. Finally launched it last Tuesday. Has anyone else had a simple task blow up into a massive time sink? How do you keep these projects from getting out of hand?

Break it into smaller zones and just do one per weekend. A full closet clean out feels huge but tackling just the shoes or the top shelf is doable. Momentum builds from those small wins.

Honestly that's just how it goes with big projects. You have to build up the energy to even start, then it snowballs into a whole thing. What's the next spot in your place that needs that kind of attack?
