Bought a cheap miter saw stand at a yard sale. Big mistake.
Found it last spring for $40. Looked okay. The legs wobbled right away. Tried to fix it with new bolts. Wasted three hours on a Saturday. Then the whole thing tipped with a 12-foot piece of crown. Scratched the molding and bent the blade. Ended up costing me about $150 in materials and a new blade. What's a good, solid folding stand you guys actually trust?

Been there, done that, got the bent blade. A cheap stand is never a deal. That wobble is a huge red flag for a tip over. I've had a DeWalt folding stand for years and it's rock solid. The quick clamps are a game changer for long boards. It's worth paying for something that won't trash your work.

Disagree completely. A cheap stand with a wobble just needs a shim under one leg, it's a five minute fix. Most of us aren't running a job site all day, so the DeWalt is overkill for weekend projects. Olivia's baseboard got eaten because she didn't check the lock pins, not because the stand was cheap.

Cheap stands are a lesson in false economy. Kai_webb91 is right about the DeWalt, my own cheap one tried to eat a piece of baseboard. Just spend the money upfront.
