Finally swapped my old framing hammer for a 15 oz stiletto
Tbh I was stubborn about using a heavy 22 oz steel head for years, but after 3 days with this lighter titanium one my elbow feels 10 years younger. Anyone else made the switch and noticed a big difference in fatigue?

Man people get so stuck on "this is how I've always done it" even when there's clearly better tools out there. That heavy hammer mentality is the same reason some dudes still rock worn out boots when proper arch support changes your whole day. Your elbow isn't lying to you, lighter tools mean less shock traveling up your arm and into your shoulder. It's wild how we accept joint pain as "part of the job" when sometimes a simple swap fixes it. Bet you'll notice the same thing with your impact driver vs. an old drill, lighter gear just lets you work longer without wrecking yourself.

Yep exactly, I switched to a lighter framing nailer last year and my shoulder stopped clicking after a month. The old school guys will fight you on it til their joints give out.

Traded out my old nailer for a lighter one a few years back and felt the difference in about two weeks. @the_anthony you're right about the shoulder clicking, that vibration adds up fast. Took me longer than I'd like to admit to stop thinking "heavy means tough" and just go with what doesn't beat you up. Joint pain is just wear and tear, no shame in avoiding it. The old heads love to talk about how they did it in the 80s with a sledgehammer but my elbows are fine with modern gear. Small changes like that let you keep doing the work instead of quitting early.
