First big cabinet job - the toe kick was all wrong
Building built-ins for a house in Portland. Got the toe kick height off by half an inch on every single cabinet base. Had to pull all 12 boxes off the wall and re-cut the bottom panels. Took a whole Saturday to fix but the customer never knew.

Funny how the fix always takes longer than the screw-up.

Isn't that always the way though... they can break something in two seconds but then you're stuck waiting around for days for someone to come fix it properly.

Tell you what, I've been on both sides of that equation more times than I'd like to admit. Had a buddy once ask me to fix his garbage disposal after he dropped a fork in it, took me like five minutes to fish it out but a whole afternoon to track down the right replacement part. Funny how the universe makes you pay for quick mistakes with slow fixes.
