Was dead set against digital wallets until my card got skimmed at a gas station in Phoenix
Standing at that pump in August 112 degrees and some skimmer stole my debit info. Had to wait 3 days for a new card but my Apple Pay worked instantly. Anyone else have a moment like that change their view on going cashless?

Man that Phoenix heat just makes everything worse too, right? I read somewhere that gas station skimmers are way more common in places with standalone pumps that don't get checked often. Watched a news segment about how digital wallets create a one time code each transaction so even if someone intercepts it the code is useless after that first use. That's what finally sold me on Apple Pay honestly. Plus you don't have to dig your wallet out at the counter which feels nicer. The whole thing is just way more secure than swiping a card and hoping for the best.

Same thing happened to me at a Shell station in Tucson last July. Switched to Google Pay that same week.
