Saturday service crashed so hard I almost walked out mid-shift
Last Saturday we had 42 covers booked, which is normal for us, but the expo line got backed up because two tickets got mixed up and the new guy sent out a well-done ribeye to table 9 instead of table 12. By the time I caught it, the table had already cut into it and the couple was past the point of a free dessert fixing it. Then the fryer oil decided to smoke like a chimney right as the rush hit, so I was swapping out a filter with one hand and plating with the other. The whole thing took about 20 minutes to sort out, but it felt like three hours and I had to step in the walk-in just to breathe. Has anyone else had a Sunday brunch that made them question their whole career choice, or was it just my lucky week?
