Tried the poly rope method instead of wire brush on a creosote job last week

Had a heavy buildup in a customer's chimney in Detroit. Normally I'd go at it with a wire brush for an hour. Decided to try a poly rope with a plastic scraper head instead, just to see. Cut the time in half, maybe 35 minutes total, and the debris came off cleaner. Less mess on the floor too. Any of you guys switched methods for tough creosote?

Oh man, glad to hear that worked out for you. I've been thinking about trying something different for the real stubborn jobs too, my back just can't take an hour of wire brushing anymore.

@sanchez.mary my buddy tried one of those poly ropes on a rental property he cleans and said it saved his arms from killing him the next day. Told me the glazed stuff came right off with less dust too.

Less mess on the floor" no way, I figured the poly rope would shake off just as much crud. @sanchez.mary that sounds like a total game changer if you're not breathing in all that dust.
