TIL the trick to reviving a dead Game Boy cartridge slot is just a folded piece of paper
I was at a retro game swap in Columbus last Saturday and this older guy named Ray saw me struggling to get my copy of Tetris to load. He pulled a piece of paper out of his wallet, folded it twice, and wedged it behind the cartridge in the slot. It booted right up on the first try. He told me the pins wear down after years of use and the paper just pushes them back into contact. I tried it on two more games when I got home and both worked. Anyone else ever heard of this or have a better fix that does not involve opening the shell?
