Shoutout to the guy at the Toledo recycling drop-off who asked why I was rinsing my peanut butter jars
I had been standing at the sink for like 5 minutes scrubbing one out, because I always heard you have to get them spotless or they get thrown out. He looked at it and said the plant doesn't care, it all goes in the same furnace. I'd been wasting hot water and my own Saturday mornings for probably two years doing this. Now I just scrape them out and toss them in. Anyone know if the paper vs plastic lid thing actually matters or is that more of the same?
