Tried planting a native garden in my yard last spring and the bugs showed up different
I mean, I put in some milkweed and a few purple coneflowers, thinking maybe a butterfly or two might stop by. By August, I had this whole little ecosystem with bees and caterpillars I hadn't seen since I was a kid in Ohio. It really hit me how just one small patch of the right plants can pull so much life back into a place. Anyone else try something like this and get surprised by what moved in?

Wow, my buddy did that and suddenly had lizards all over his porch!

Lizards all over the porch is my kind of luck. I tried to make a nice garden once and just attracted every squirrel in the county. They dug up all my bulbs. My yard is basically a warning sign for what NOT to do.

Wait, you had squirrels dig up every single bulb? That's wild. I can't even picture a yard that empty after all that work. @patricia262 mentioned lizards but this sounds way worse honestly. Squirrels are like tiny furry wrecking crews when they want to be. Did you ever try planting anything again or did they just win forever?
