Dropped $340 on a cheap 3 axis kit for my benchtop mill and it's been sitting in a box for 5 months
Bought one of those budget 3 axis ball screw kits for my G0704 back in March because the listing said it was a direct bolt on. It was not a direct bolt on. Nothing lined up, the couplers were soft as butter, and the Y axis mount had the holes drilled 4mm off center. I spent two weekends fighting it, then stripped one of the ballscrews trying to shim it, and now the whole pile is in a cardboard box under my bench. $340 plus maybe 30 hours of my life gone, and I still hand crank every part like it's 2009. The kicker is a guy on a forum told me to save up for a proper kit from the start and I figured I knew better. Anyone got a lead on a kit that actually fits a G0704 without me breaking out the die grinder and crying?

Ugh, cheap tools always cost you twice, once at the store and once in your garage.
