Heard an old timer say tool paths are just recipes, been thinking about that all week
I was setting up a job on our Mori and this retired guy who comes in to sharpen tools told me programming is like cooking. He said you follow the recipe but you still gotta taste it, meaning check your feeds and speeds against what the machine is actually doing. I've been running parts for 3 years and never thought of it that way. It made me slow down and watch the first few cuts instead of just letting it run. Anyone else pick up little tricks from random conversations like that?
