Finally hit 1,000 latte art pours that actually look right
I've been keeping a tally on my fridge for the last 4 months, marking every good pour after my third espresso shot each morning. This morning I hit number 1,000 and it caught me off guard because I still fail about half the time with rosettas. Anyone else track their pour success rate or did I just turn a hobby into a weird spreadsheet?
I read a barista blog last week that said most people never get past 500 good pours because they switch beans or machines before building muscle memory. Four months of daily counting is wild dedication, I respect it. I keep a dry erase board for my flat whites and it’s mostly slashes and sad faces, maybe 60 percent success on a good day. The rosetta struggle is real though, my leaves still look like ferns that got stepped on. Do you think the tally itself helps you focus, like a scoreboard effect, or is it just proof you’re stubborn enough to keep going?
