Pro tip: always check the bag before you leave the comic shop
I was at my local shop, Comic Cave, and bought a mint copy of Amazing Spider-Man #300. Got home and the clerk had put a different issue in the bag by mistake. I drove right back and they fixed it, no problem. Has anyone else had a close call like that with a big purchase?

Comic Cave is a solid shop, they usually get it right. But with a book like that, the price tag makes your heart stop for a second. Did you actually open the bag at the counter to check, or did you just trust the label? I've seen the wrong book in the right bag more times than I'd like.

Wait, you've seen the wrong book in the right bag? That's my actual nightmare. I always trust the label, blair_nguyen. Now I'm second guessing every purchase I've ever made there. The heart stopping price tag is bad enough. Finding a different book later would make me lose it. I guess I'm opening every bag at the counter from now on.

Opening every bag at the counter" is the only way now lol. I got home with a totally wrong trade paperback once and felt so dumb. Never trusting a label again.
