The $150 omnibus that turned out to be a bootleg and fell apart in 3 weeks
Bought what looked like a great deal on an out of print Sandman omnibus from a third party seller. Binding looked fine in the pics but when it showed up the pages had that weird glossy feel and the spine cracked after like 2 reads. Opened it one morning and pages just started dropping out. Contacted the seller and they ghosted me. Anyone else get burned buying 'collector' editions from random online shops instead of an actual comic store?

Dang, that sucks but honestly the glossy pages are the giveaway, real omnis have that matte paper feel. Maybe check if the ISBN matches what's actually printed inside, bootleggers usually slap the right cover on but mess up the internal numbers lol.
