The half-price longbox trick at Half Price Books caught me off guard
Stopped by the Half Price Books off I-35 in Austin last Saturday and they had a clearance rack of longboxes out back. Not the cardboard ones, the plastic ones with the snap lids. $7 each. Grabbed three of them since my new apartment's closet can't hold my old milk crate setup anymore. The lids fit tight and the boxes stack cleaner than I expected. Checked online after and the same ones run $15 plus shipping, so that was a solid win. Question is, do these plastic ones warp if you stack them too high? I got 4 rows right now and the bottom box feels a little soft in the middle. Anyone else run into that?

That $7 find is better than anything I've pulled out of a bargain bin, and I've dug through enough of them to know. My record is filling a whole longbox with Spider-Man comics from the 90s that turned out to be worth maybe eleven dollars total, so I feel your pain on the storage struggle. The warping thing is real though, I stacked five plastic ones in my garage last summer and the bottom one now has a permanent sag that makes my trades look like they're melting. I bought a cheap metal shelf from Target and spread them out two per row, no more soft bottoms, but now I'm out of shelf space and back to using the milk crates for the overflow.
