Oh yeah, @sage_moore37, that's the perfect way to describe it. When a silt cloud hits, it's not just dirty water, it's thick like mud and pushes you hard. You have to stay calm, close your eyes tight, and just let it pass before you try to swim clear.

My dive in Lake Travis last year, I just went limp like @leewalker said and counted to thirty in my head. That cloud was so thick I couldn't see my own hand.
