That Tuesday where I fought a ghost PSU for 6 hours

Got a call from a small law office in Phoenix about a PC that would randomly shut down. I swapped the RAM, checked the drives, ran diagnostics and nothing showed up. On a hunch I finally swapped the power supply and the machine ran stable for two days straight. Has anyone else had a failing PSU that passed every test but still caused issues?

Keep a detailed log of what you actually did and what happened. Helps a ton when you're trying to figure out the pattern that worked.

Bet it was something else entirely"? Dude. No. You don't just stumble into a result like that by accident. I had three pages of notes, color coded and everything. Took me six weeks to isolate the variable. I literally cried when it finally worked because I was so sure I'd messed up the whole thing. Luck had nothing to do with it. It was just pure stubborn refusal to give up.
