Bought a cheap power trowel blade set that cost me a full day's work
I grabbed a set of those bargain blades online for my 36 inch machine, thinking I'd save a hundred bucks. They dulled out halfway through a 4000 square foot garage slab and left a terrible finish, so I had to stop and swap them mid-pour. What brand of blades do you guys actually trust for a big job?

Bad batch" or was the concrete mix just too rough?

Honestly, sometimes you just get a bad batch. I've had expensive name brand blades chip on me on a simple patio job, while a cheap set from the hardware store lasted through two whole driveways. The problem might not have been the price, but maybe the concrete mix was just really harsh that day or the subgrade was off.

Was it one of those no-name sets from a random seller or a known brand's budget line? That makes a huge difference in what went wrong. I've been burned by both, but the off-brand ones usually don't even have the right steel. What kind of finish were you going for, a hard steel or a combo blade?
