That $250 price tag stings, especially when you realize that faraday cage did its job way too well. I had a similar thing happen with a signal blocking pouch I bought for my spare key (which was like $40, not $250, so I feel your pain a bit less). The whole point was to keep people from cloning the signal while it sits in my drawer, but instead it turned the key into a completely dead brick. So yeah, I'd call that a fail for your wallet but a win for privacy since nobody is getting that signal now.

Did you try just tapping the key against the pouch to ground it?
