My Daily Site Walk Went From 90 Minutes to 20 After I Changed One Thing
For years I did my site walks the old way. Clipboard, printed drawings, walk the whole floor, come back to the trailer, then spend an hour typing notes into an email that nobody reads until the next day. I was doing this on a 40,000 sq ft school job in Boise and losing half my morning to it. About 8 months ago I started taking photos on my phone of anything I flagged, then dictating a quick note right there while standing in front of it. Now I send a photo log to the subs before I even leave the floor. The difference is wild. Guys actually fix stuff same day because they can see exactly what I mean instead of reading my notes. I still print a set of drawings for the trailer wall, but my walk itself is shorter and I catch more. Curious what everyone else uses for tracking field notes. Anything better than photos and voice memos?
