My super said the port-a-john count was fine, so I counted them myself at 7am
We were pouring the second deck on a 40,000 sq ft office build over in Chandler and I had 62 guys on site by 6:30 in the morning. My superintendent kept brushing me off when I brought up the restroom situation, said the two units we had were plenty and I was overthinking it. So one Tuesday I stood by the gate at 7am with a clicker and counted everyone who walked into those two doors before coffee break. 47 guys in 90 minutes, and one of the units had a broken latch so the door kept swinging open on people. I did not even say anything to him, I just printed the count off the clicker and put it on his desk with a rental quote for two more units and a service call. He laughed, signed it, and by Thursday we had four on site with a weekly pump schedule taped to the inside of every door. Funny thing is our lost time complaints dropped off a cliff that same week. How do you all handle the head count math when the site is growing fast?
