The week my crew walked off the job mid-framing and I had to finish alone
Last summer on a spec house in Denver, my whole crew quit over a pay dispute with the GC that I didn't even start. I ended up framing the entire second-story floor system solo for three days straight, and that's when I realized how much I rely on guys showing up. Has anyone else had to finish a critical phase short-handed and how did you handle it?

Man oh man, I've been there. Nothing like raw dogging a job because nobody showed up. Bet your arms were screaming by day two.

Man, did you at least get a Taco Bell run out of it? That solo grind is no joke. My trick is to keep a stack of 150 speed screws and a second drill with a clutch set low for the high-fly stuff. I also learned to mark my joist layout with a sharpie on the rim board before I even start, so when my hands are shaking from fatigue I'm not re-measuring. A cordless impact driver with a 5.0 battery beats the weight of a full drill for those long stretches too.
