TIL that telling my drywall crew "good job" actually made things worse

Had a foreman from ABC Drywall on my last job in Phoenix chew me out for just saying "looks good" without pointing out any specific problems. He said it makes guys think they can slack off cause the boss ain't paying attention. Changed my whole approach. Now I walk the site and call out exactly what needs fixing, even if it's small stuff like a seam that needs another pass. My punch list dropped by about 30% on the last two houses. Anyone else deal with squishy feedback killing their quality control?

Pretty sure they meant "good job" to a coworker not a dog, big difference there.
