Watched a framing crew switch from hammers to nail guns almost overnight

I started out as a laborer back in '92 on a site in Phoenix. Back then every guy had a 20 oz Estwing on his hip and the sound of hammering was constant. By the late 90s we barely heard hammers at all, nail guns took over so fast. It saved time and wrists but I kind of miss that rhythm. Anybody else notice that shift happen way quicker than people expected?

Nah, do you really miss having your ears ringing and your elbows shot by 2 PM? Ngl, nail guns make the work actually bearable for old guys like us.

Laughing at myself remembering how I'd hold a roofing nail between my teeth like some tough guy from the movies. My dentist still gives me dirty looks when she sees the old chip I got from that habit. Now I'm just happy if I can find my glasses before the coffee gets cold.
