A perm gone wrong that still makes me cringe
Years ago, I did a perm on a friend and the solution was way too harsh. Her hair got all brittle and started snapping off in pieces. We didn't have the mild options back then like we do today. It was a total mess and I felt horrible about it. That one mistake really stuck with me and changed how I pick products now.

Ever wonder how many stylists quit after one of these disasters, not just clients? That guilt must eat at them for years.

Used to assume stylists just shook off bad days and kept going. Then I talked to one who quit after giving someone a haircut so uneven it was unsalvageable. She said she replayed that appointment in her head for months and couldn't face another chair. Stories like that show how a single mistake can really end a career.

My perm in 2008 left the ends so crunchy they felt like actual straw. I had to cut off like four inches because it was just dead, broken pieces. I didn't touch another chemical treatment for a good five years after that.
