Had a client yesterday who changed how I think about bangs

I've always told people with round faces that bangs are a bad idea. Straight up refused to do them for years. This girl came in with a picture and I started giving her the usual speech, but she cut me off and said 'just trust me, I've had them before.' So I did them and honestly they looked great on her. Made me realize I've been pushing my own rules instead of listening to what people actually want. Anyone else ever have a hard rule that turned out to be wrong?

Are we really treating bangs like some kind of ethical dilemma now? I mean, it's just hair... it grows back if it looks bad. It's not like you sold her a time share or something.

My sister cried for three days after I convinced her to get curtain bangs in high school and honestly it was worth it for the memories alone. Who hasn't made a questionable hair choice at some point?
