PSA: Leaving small gaps in my appointment book fixed my burnout
I used to book clients every half hour to keep busy, but I felt tired and made mistakes. My coworker told me to try adding buffer time between services. Now I use those minutes to sanitize my station and chat with the next client. My work feels smoother and clients seem more relaxed too.
Yeah, it's like that time I tried to schedule back-to-back video calls all day. Felt like my brain was melting by 3 PM. I was rushing so much I forgot to unmute myself on three separate calls, just talking to a black screen. @kai_ellis has a point about breathing room. Now I block out fifteen minutes after any long meeting just to write down what was said and grab a soda. Makes the next call way less of a mess.
