Showerthought: Wetting hair before applying bleach actually helped my foils lay flat

I’d been fighting with flyaways and uneven sections for like 3 years, especially on this one client with super fine hair. Tried a spray bottle with just water before the bleach mix last Thursday and it made a huge difference. The foils didn’t slide around and the lightener processed way more even. Has anyone else tried this or am I late to the party?

I mean you're only about 3 years late but hey, better late than never right? I tried this once and accidentally oversprayed and the girl's roots looked like a wet dog for an hour. Good times. Still, it beats chasing those little flyaway strands around like they owe you money.

Used to think wetting hair before bleach was a rookie mistake cause I figured it'd just dilute the lift. Tried it last month on a stubborn crown section where the foils kept popping off and honestly it saved my whole afternoon. Now I do a light mist on the really fine baby hairs around the hairline and they actually stay put instead of sliding right out. The water helps the product grip without making it runny if you don't go overboard. Still not something I'd do on a full head of coarse hair though, that's asking for patchy results.
