Unpopular opinion: I thought home haircuts were fine until my barber neighbor fixed my bad trim.

Now I see why expert hands make all the difference.

Ever notice how a bad home haircut makes you feel like you're wearing the mistake for weeks? Craig.alex is right about it being brutal, because it's not just the hair, it's the daily reminder you tried to save twenty bucks and failed. That kind of visual proof kills any urge to pick up the clippers again. You start seeing every wall mirror as your enemy. At that point, paying a professional isn't just for the cut, it's for the peace of mind.

Gave up on doing it myself after one real bad fade last summer.

Man, I get that lol. When you mess up once that bad, it totally kills your confidence to try again. Craig.alex is right, it's just too brutal to bounce back from a disaster like that. You end up overthinking every little thing and it stops being worth the stress. Honestly, some jobs are better left to people who know what they're doing, save yourself the trouble.

Ouch, that's brutal. I'd probably give up too after a disaster like that.
