Update: switched my towel setup after 12 years and now I'm second guessing it
For over a decade I kept one spray bottle of barbicide on the station and dunked combs between every single client, which was drilled into me at beauty school in Reno back in 2012. Last spring I moved to two labeled jars, one for combs and one for shears only, because a barber down the street said cross dipping was dulling my blades. It does keep the shears sharper, but dunking everything takes way longer between clients and my 4pm regular has already noticed the wait. Am I overthinking this, or does anyone else keep separate jars and actually think it's worth the extra minute?
