Finally figured out the blind pick on a Liebherr after 6 years
Been fighting the blind spot on the left side of the boom forever, especially on tight jobsites in Portland. Tried mirrors, spotters, the whole thing, still clipped a scaffold last month. Got sick of it and rigged a cheap backup camera from Amazon onto the counterweight, wired it to a tablet in the cab. Cost me $140 total and now I can set down a load without guessing. Anyone else run a camera setup on their rig or am I just lazy?
$140 for a backup camera is a steal compared to the $3,000 dent I put in a garage door last year trying to swing the boom blind. Mine's held on with zip ties and good vibes, but honestly the tablet mount is the real MVP. If being lazy means not clipping pedestrians in tight alleys, call me the laziest guy in the PNW.
