I finally tried a luffing jib for tight spots instead of a standard one

I had a job downtown Chicago last month where I had to place steel between two existing buildings. Only had 15 feet of space to swing. Tried using my standard lattice boom first, couldn't get the angle right without hitting the wall. Swapped to a luffing jib and the control was way better, I placed every beam without a single tap against the facade. Has anyone else switched setups for tight urban jobs and seen a big difference?

Never ran a luffing jib on a 15 foot swing but that sounds tight.

Man that brings back memories! My buddy tried something similar once and it did NOT go smoothly for him @elliotm57.

Mostly we just watch people learn things the hard way and call it a story.
