I thought those random word prompt generators were a gimmick until one gave me my best story
I rolled 5 random words on a free site last Tuesday and somehow wrote 8 pages off them. Has anyone else had a random generator actually work, or do you just stick to your own list?

Getting five words tossed at me cold is what does it. My brain hates a blank page but loves a puzzle, so I treat the words like a box of parts I have to build something out of. Last time mine were "ladder, mustard, Tuesday, radio, forgiveness" and I got a decent short story about a guy fixing his roof while his marriage fell apart. A list of my own ideas never surprises me the way that did.
