My writing group prompt bombed hard yesterday. Changed my mind about feedback.

I spent 2 hours on a horror prompt about a haunted library. Thought it was gold. Posted it in our Tuesday night group. Three people said the pacing was off. One guy said it read like a grocery list. I argued at first. Then I read it aloud at 2am. Heard how choppy it sounded. Rewrote the whole thing in 20 minutes. Used their exact notes. Way better now. Has anyone else had a prompt fail so bad you had to start from scratch?

Ugh that's the worst feeling, but at least you got a better story out of it

Used to roll my eyes at that line but you're right, it really does make the memory better.
