That one trick of writing your villain's internal monologue first fixed my whole plot hole problem

After staring at a dead chapter for three weeks I wrote my antagonist's secret fears and motivations longhand and suddenly my hero's choices made sense almost immediately, has anyone else tried flipping the perspective like that?

Flipped mine inside out too. Made the bad guy feel real for once.

Yeah @jamief67 that "making the bad guy feel real" part is interesting. I actually wonder if flipping it inside out made me see the bad guy as more human but also more terrifying. Like suddenly they weren't just a cartoon villain anymore, they had real reasons and that's scarier.
