Bought a $25 RFID blocking sleeve after a friend got skimmed at a Denver bus stop, best panic spend ever
Slid my credit card into that thin nylon sleeve and now I tap it on the reader like a paranoid magician, but the peace of mind is worth way more than the 25 bucks, anyone else rocking one of these or just trusting the chip?
Ha! Paranoid magician is the perfect way to put it, I'm stealing that. Honestly, the real magic trick is how quickly you forget the sleeve is even in your wallet until you need to actually use the card and it takes three tries to get it out smoothly. People look at me like I'm doing some weird card flourish at checkout, but hey, at least I'll still have my money to buy groceries after some dude with a scanner tries to ruin my day. Probably overkill, but so is my morning iced coffee, and I still buy that every day. Better safe than sorry, especially when sorry means a week of phone calls to the bank.
