Switched from a password manager to paper and it's way safer for me

I used to swear by LastPass for like 3 years. But after that big breach in 2022 where they lost encrypted vaults I started getting nervous. My buddy Dave who works in IT at a hospital talked me into keeping critical logins on a physical notebook locked in a fire safe. Took me a weekend to rewrite 40 passwords but honestly I feel better knowing they aren't sitting on some cloud server. Has anyone else gone back to analog for their most important accounts?

Ha, I love that you're literally locking your passwords in a box now. Next step is carving them into stone tablets and burying them in the backyard.

Used to think the password manager stuff was enough and this seemed overkill. Then my brother got his entire Google account drained because someone guessed his recovery questions. Changed my mind real fast after seeing how much damage that did. Physical security is actually smart when you think about how easy it is to hack digital storage. Plus a lockbox doesn't get viruses or phishing attempts. Not saying everyone needs to do it, but I get why someone would.

@phoenix573 Yeah your brother's story is WILD. People sleep on recovery questions until someone guesses "what street did you grow up on" from Facebook. A lockbox is just straight up unhackable. No vulns, no zero-days, no phishing. I keep my backup codes in a fireproof safe now. Not paranoid, just PREPARED.
