The coffee shop down the street had a data breach last month

I heard from a friend that their customer info was leaked. Now I'm worried about using public Wi-Fi there. What steps should I take to stay safe?

Borrow their Wi-Fi as petty revenge.

Ever done this? My old neighbors let their dog bark all night and never apologized, so I logged into their unsecured network for a month just to stream movies in 4K. They never even noticed, which honestly proves Leo's point about people not paying attention.

Notice how people treat digital security like a joke until it hits them. My cousin reused the same password everywhere and got locked out of her email for a week. We shrug at updating software or clicking weird links, then act shocked when a breach happens. It's this weird disconnect where we guard our physical stuff like hawks but leave our digital doors wide open.

Wasn't there a study about how people use passwords like "password123" because they think no one would bother hacking THEM? Kinda like how @adams.uma's neighbors just left their network open, thinking it wouldn't matter.
