Vent: My friend's 'secure' password was just the word 'password' with a 1 at the end. He argued it was fine because it had a number.

My uncle's "strong" wifi password was just our street address. It's like people think adding ANY extra character is a magic shield.

Actually, adding a character does help a lot.

Password with a 1 at the end is the digital version of putting a fake security camera in your yard. It looks like you tried, but any real threat is just going to laugh. My cousin's "complex" password was his dog's name and the year he was born, like hackers are just guessing random words without checking his Instagram first. People treat password rules like a checklist for a school project, not actual security.

But that extra character does make it way harder for a computer to guess, even if it seems simple to a person.
